So what's it like?
Varied high mountain pistes with lively and varied nightlife
Les Deux Alpes is among Europe's highest ski resorts. The modern and lively town is friendly and relaxed, boasting plenty of shops, bars, cafés, a good selection of après ski and other activities. The resort lies along the centre of its valley, with immediate access to the slopes in all directions. There are plenty of lifts within easy reach of all the accommodation. Most of the skiing and the snow sure glacier is on the eastern side of Les Deux Alpes and is reached by the Jandri Express gondola, the western side of the resort climbs to Pied Moutet at 2100m. Ski information
Beginners
The village runs are wide, gentle and south facing. The very easy slopes on the glacier mean that even beginners can experience the atmosphere at high altitude.
Intermediates
A perfect resort for go-for-it intermediates, who should be able to cover almost the whole area of marked pistes. The upper slopes provide optimum practice, with good quality snow and gentle runs.
Advanced
Experts can revel in the extensive off-piste opportunities. Further possibilities include the renowned blacks of nearby Alpe d’Huez; go for the pose and get there by helicopter! Also the entirely off-piste area of neighbouring La Grave is worth a visit.
