More about the skiing in Lake Louise

  • So what's it like?

The jewel of the Rockies with an impressive ski area too

The area offers some of the best, wide-open, above-the-tree-line skiing anywhere, and the combined Tri-Area lift pass offers access to Sunshine and Mount Norquay ski areas nearby. Immaculately groomed slopes, a backdrop of the Rockies and the lake all enhance the experience of skiing here. Lake Louise village itself is small but has a selection of restaurants and plenty of atmosphere! Three separate mountain faces offer 11 square miles of skiing, including one 5 mile cruise down Whitehorn Mountain. Due to the resort's policy of ensuring that every lift has an easy way down, novices can join the more experienced skiers on the slopes.

    Ski information

    Beginners

Not only are the slopes gentle, the instructors are friendly, but the Lake Louise ski school offers beginners a guarantee that if you are not skiing by the end of your first day you will receive an additional lesson FREE of charge!

    Intermediates

With Louise's four massive mountain faces to explore, Intermediate skiers will have the time of their lives. There's everything from smooth cruising runs on the Larch area to the challenge of the Back Bowls and the big bumps on Ptarmigan and Raven, fantastic to ski as a mixed ability group.

    Advanced

Rocky Mountain powder, 'Steep'n'deep', giant bumps or endlessly smooth, stylish cruising, Lake Louise has it all, and lots of it! The huge Back Bowls are world-renowned, there are World Cup downhill runs to enjoy and as waiting at lifts is virtually unheard of, there's more time to spend skiing this spectacular mountain.
