So what's it like?
A picturesque lakeside resort with winter activities for all
Nestled on the edge of one of Austria's most famous lakes the picturesque village St. Wolfgang is an ideal resort for those new to winter sports and those who want to simply enjoy a holiday in amidst a beautiful winter landscape. The area is renowned for offering a wide range of winter activities including cross country skiing. Ski tuition takes place at Postalm, reached by a spectacular and often thrilling ski bus ride, 45 minutes away. More advanced and intermediate skiing is on offer in Gosau, 1 hour 30 minutes away. Please note: It is mandatory for ALL children under the age of 15 to wear helmets when participating in winter sports in St. Wolfgang.
Ski information
Beginners
St. Wolfgang is a beginner's paradise. The Postalm has an extensive range of easy slopes on which to gain confidence (on occasion, lessons may also be taken on the Puchberg nursery slopes just outside St. Wolfgang). Complete novices will enjoy learning with our special 'First Time’ packages.
Intermediates
The Postalm is ideal for improving your skiing technique in very picturesque surroundings. Dachstein West (Gosau) is also well worth a visit for a day or two. It is a large, more challenging area, primarily made up of red runs.
Advanced
Skiing for experts is limited on the Postalm. However, there are some great runs to tackle in Dachstein West (Gosau), with 141km of piste.
