So what's it like?
The traditional town of Kirchberg is nestled in the Kitzbühler alps. It is connected to the Kitzbühel ski area via the Fleckenalm and Maierlbahn cable cars, with a range of long red runs, challenging blacks its clear why this ski area has been popular for many years and hosts the world famous Hannenkahm ski race. Kirchberg also has a range of bars that are popular with locals and tourists alike or if you are looking for something more lively Kitzbühel is just a short taxi ride away offering you lots of choice both on and off the piste.

In 2013 Kitzbühel will be staging the 73rd Hahnenkamm Race Weekend. First held in 1931, the Hahnenkamm Alpine Downhill ski race is one of the most famous races on the FIS World Cup calendar. Tens of thousands of spectators and media will come from all over the world to experience the excitement as the world's top racers compete in the Super G, Downhill and the Slalom to name a few. The most famous run, the 'Streif' downhill, will be carefully prepared for this event during the early part of the winter season, and will only open to the public after the race weekend. The 2013 race weekend will take place from 25 th to 27th January 2013.
