  • So what's it like?

    A popular resort with lots on offer for all levels

    Kaprun is situated in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, directly beneath the breathtaking Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. It is one of Austria's most popular winter and summer ski resorts due to its excellent skiing and bustling après ski with a great choice of bars, the fantastic 'Optimum' sports centre and 'Tauern Spa' complex. Together with its neighbouring resort, Zell am See, the area offers skiing and boarding for all levels and abilities, all on one lift pass.

    Beginners

    Gentle nursery slopes are found beside the village centre, on the Lechnerberg. With excellent instruction from the Kaprun ski school, as confidence is gained, beginners can progress on to the numerous easy runs of the Maiskogel and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.

    Intermediates

    The range of skiing in and around Kaprun is truly incredible. Over 130kms of pistes and 58 lifts are available in the fantastic Kaprun/Zell am See Europa Sportregion (FREE ski bus).

    Advanced

    Accomplished skiers will relish the contrast of wide-open pistes and superb powder of the glacier bowl. There are seven exciting black runs throughout the region, some with vicious moguls. There are especially challenging and exhilarating pistes on Zell am See's Schmittenhöhe Mountain and the Maiskogel has some great off piste on powder days.

Explore the beautiful and captivating city of Salzburg - the famous street of signs,the cathedrals and churches, Mozart's birthplace or the medieval fortress that looks over this historical city. Why not take yourself on a trip around the city and sing your favourite 'Sound of Music' songs where they were originally filmed- it's your choice!

    If you want to explore the city by yourselves then feel free, if not, a city tour is included in the price. The Salzburg city guide will take you around all the prime sights in the centre, making sure you don't miss out.
    There is time for last minute shopping so be impulsive and take some memories of Austria home. Whether you are looking to treat yourself in one of the designer shops or get that last minute present for friends and family, Salzburg has a great choice.

    You and your luggage will be collected from your hotel on Saturday morning. Your luggage will be stored in the coach, whilst you are free to explore Salzburg and get the most out of your last day here with your friends and family! Later in the afternoon, the same coach will be waiting to take you to the airport. Available for departures starting 26/12. Prices approx £22 adult and £14 child.     Kaprun Ski School
    Kaprun is a great place for your children to learn to ski. You can be sure your children will get top class tuition and have loads of fun in 'Dino's Kids Club'. They have taster 2hrs of tution for the young ones (3yrs-4yrs) so they can get a taste in the children's fun park. Ski school for 4yrs+ runs from 9.30am-12noon and 1.00pm-3.00pm, with lunch and supervision available locally (extra charge), providing great fun for kids - but also for parents too!

    Private Nanny service (6mths-8yrs) - open to all guests staying in our chalets in Kaprun. Available to groups and families booking an entire chalet, your private nanny will care for children in the comfort of your own chalet. Pre-booking is essential.
