Thomson Ski car hire abroad with ALAMO

Enjoy the freedom of your own car during your ski holiday to North America. As well as providing a convenient and private transfer between the airport and your resort, holiday car hire gives you the chance to see so much more of the mountains USA and Canada.

When booking your holiday to USA or Canada, select the type of car hire you require in the optional extras section of your booking. Alternatively, call our Tailor-Made team on 0871 231 2268* for prices and availability.

If you are travelling in a party of 2 or more you have the option to swap your coach transfer for the use of a rental car at selected resorts. Car hire is compulsory if you have booked the Boston Ski Party as no transfers are available.

Seven days rental is provided FREE in the USA but there are extras payable. For all Canadian resorts, ALAMO car hire is available at special pre-booked rates as an alternative to coach transfers. If you require car hire, this must be added on at the time of booking otherwise we will assume that car hire is not required and that you will be requiring coach transfers (not Boston Ski Party). Guests travelling to Lake Tahoe via San Francisco and Mammoth via Los Angeles must select car hire as coach transfers are not available from these airports.

Basic Third Party liability insurance in USA. This only covers up to the state limit and varies as per the law of each state. In California, no basic liability is included and either ALAMO Gold or Fully Inclusive insurance must be added in the UK or basic insurance upon arrival is payable locally (costing approx $13 per day). US law does not provide for the mandatory third party liability cover as in the UK. In Canada all our locations have a provincial minimum liability of $200,000 third-party liability cover.

Additional Drivers & any Young Driver Fee

Ski rack rental ($5-8 per day USA/Canada and must be requested at the time of booking and paid locally. Board racks are not available)

Tolls and entrance fees to national parks (i.e. Banff National Park in Canada)
